  • Towns were autonomous, therefore conflict was handled either through discussion or at times war
  • After the Trail of Tears around 40 or so Tribal Towns were established in Oklahoma
  • Today there are around 10 Tribal Towns/Ceremonial Grounds still active

  • Yearly renewal ceremony for all members of the ceremonial ground
  • Singing and dancing known as Stompdance
  • From midnight till sunrise or when the chief stops the dance
  • Herbal medicine taken throughout
