COPYRIGHT CLEARance

In AS media studies we learnt about the importance of copyright and the problems that can occur if copyright free music was not used. 

 

Of course we had no intention to break the law so the music we used in our project was copyright free from sound-cloud which we learned how to use in lesson too. 

 

 

Summer Homework

For preparation for A2 media studies we were given the task to choose an British artist's song which we may like to use and get in contact with their company label for permission to use the track.  

 

I was aware that I may get a response back either allowing me to use the song or not, or them completely ignoring my email.  

The waiting game 

The difficult part wasn't finding a British artist, i knew exactly which artist to pick the hard decision was what one of his track to use. After listening to his whole Day + Night album again i decided to pick his track Time Travel.

 

We were advised to pick a track that doesn't have a video as there would be less chances to copy the original music video and that is what i done. 

 

Daley Gareth 

This track is perfect as the lyrics is rather slow therefore wouldn't be to hard to lip sync but has an uptempo which would get the viewers head bopping. I could see myself creating an music video that is edited to the beat of the track and have a rough idea of the different shot types i would use.

After haunting down the companies email address i sent an request and was surprised they contacted me back, they refereed me to the correct copyright holder however i did not get a reply back from them.
