Question 1

By Duygu Anur

Presentation Content

This presentation is about my ancillary products. The following slides will consist of whether or not my digipak and advertisement is conventional and what specific conventions I followed or challenged.

Digipak

Is your digipak conventional?

As you saw, I have followed the conventions of digipaks. I wanted my audience to be able to easily identify the artist on my digipak and the album itself.

The next couple slides will go into greater depth of the specific conventional elements I have followed compared to real life ones.

OUTSIDE PANELS

When the ancillary production began I knew I wanted my digipak to have a simple yet bold theme. I specifically looked at female pop artist to follow the pop genre conventions. One album inspiration is Jessie J's debut album Who You Are. As you can see the 2 album's have severally elements in common.

Image:

Conventionally, the image on a album cover usually consists of a close up of the artist which is showcased in both digipaks. As our synergy is the make up is was essential to have a close up so the audience can easily identify it.

Colour Scheme:

My album cover follows the rule of maximum 3 colours in the colour scheme. The elements of background and text portrays the colour palette to the audience allowing them to visually identify the colour scheme of red, black and white.

Font:

The digipak consist of one font throughout the outside panel and inside panels, new font is introduced in the advertisement yet still following the rule of maximum of 2 fonts.

In the advertisement the main focus is promoting the artist. It is important to not over do it and only include the main information that an audience member needs to know in a clear visible layout. I believe I have successfully achieved this.
