Do's and Don't
DO
- Only use a maximum of two different fonts that must complement each other and relate to the choice in genre.
- Use a maximum of three different colours and that goes well with the genre and the choice of images.
- Use fitting images for the ancillary products also making sure they are in focus and not pixelated.
- Remember the rule of thirds.
- For the digipak: use a barcode, copy right info, title for both album name and artist, record label logo and website, and the artist's website.
What will and must be included when designing ancillary work.
DON'T
- Don't over complicate the use of effects by using unnecessary effects or fonts.
- Make sure your image fits well.
- Don't put text across the face of an artist.
- Over use images. There's no need to have an image on every panel.
- Don't use anything simply because you like them or to fill up space.
What you shouldn't do on your ancillary products.
