Do's and Don't

DO

  • Only use a maximum of two different fonts that must complement each other and relate to the choice in genre.
  • Use a maximum of three different colours and that goes well with the genre and the choice of images.
  • Use fitting images for the ancillary products also making sure they are in focus and not pixelated.
  • Remember the rule of thirds.
  • For the digipak: use a barcode, copy right info, title for both album name and artist, record label logo and website, and the artist's website.

What will and must be included when designing ancillary work.

DON'T

  • Don't over complicate the use of effects by using unnecessary effects or fonts.
  • Make sure your image fits well.
  • Don't put text across the face of an artist.
  • Over use images. There's no need to have an image on every panel.
  • Don't use anything simply because you like them or to fill up space.

What you shouldn't do on your ancillary products.
