After showing our video we collected in the questionnaires.
Here are some Feedback quotes we received:
"The shot when the camera is under the water is my favourite"
"I really like the location where the singer is performing."
"The Castle location is very cinematic."
"The amateur feel given by the use of the handheld camera, adds a good atmosphere to the video and goes well with the genre of the music."
This feedback showed us what we did well with the music video but it may have been biased due to the respondents being fellow class members
Some Improvement that were brought to our attention are the following:
1 - Performance: "The singer could do with not covering his mouth as much."
2 - Narrative: "I didn't pick up much of a storyline."
3 - Slow Pace: "I think the video is a bit slow and not up to speed with the music."
We found this feedback puzzling as we used a real singer from a band to perform but we understand that the mic was close to the singers mouth a little too often in the performance
This feedback made it clear that although the audience struggled to pick up ALL of the narrative, they were still able to understand the emotion.
I think that this was the most important piece of feedback, simply because, if the video is slow and boring, no one will want to watch it
Overall the feedback from the questionnaire was positive with a liking to the strong cinematic feel and creative shots and transitions.
However, our feedback also showed us where to improve and gave us a deeper understanding of our target audience which, is one of the most important things to know, who you're making the product for. Therefore to improve my product I would have definitely conducted more research into our target audience and current trends within the group.
