HOW DID YOU INTEGRATE TECHNOLOGIES – SOFTWARE, HARDWARE AND ONLINE – IN THIS PROJECT?

Advantage:

-Different focal length ( different type of shot could be use. 

-shallow depth of field (especially with dslr)

-Lots of manual setting which give more control over the exposure and technical specs.

Disadvantage:

-Heavy

-expensive 

Gopro 3

I used mostly canon 5d mark iii for filming. This is one of the high end canon camera which give good quality footage but sadly it only shoot film in 1080p resolution which mean cropping will reduce the quality of the film as the pixel get lost . However, with these lenses we could have apply a wide variety of shot for example:

-We used a short focal length for a long shot for location with negative space like the street scene. We also used this focal length for tracking shot as a wide focal length make the image sharper because it reduce the risk of out of focus which longer focal length used to have as we change the distance between us and the Virtuoso (24mm-35mm)

-Medium shot of the couple scene in the bed room, I used the 50 f1.4 lens for the closed up shot on the couple face this lens have a low f stop which give a shallower depth of field which and high key lighting which add to the peaceful mood of this scene. (50mm)

-We did the POV shot with canon this camera work better in the dark than the go pro as it produce less grain when putting the iso up for better lighting.

GoPro helped to achieve unique and different angle shot therefore our have wide variety of shots. Gopro is also piece of techonology that is pretty small in size and durable.

Our Tripod was use for almost every shot using the DSLR. It have been use  to shoot some still shots and also we have been creative and transform it to a rig and Steadicam to create some smoother camera movement than handheld the camera.

We used LED video light Pixel mago flash for lighting because I already own them this reduce the budget and give us a decent source of light for our low key lighting scene 

Software

I used adobe premiere pro cc 2017  to edit all of the film. This Program is the most completed film editing software created by adobe, which allowed me to color grade the necessary shots that needed correction. furthermore this program offers many different effects that can be added to the shot, with the help of our own creativity. For example, I created a flash effect towards the end of the film by applying lens flare wipe to white effect as a transition to the credit.

Not only that, this software also allows me to put in the main music, as well as other non-diegetic sound effects to eliminate the background noise and to create a more realistic atmosphere for the audience.

Blog 

On top of the editing software, to create blog I used wordpress as it is easy to edit on and it offers lot of themes which is visually beautiful, and enjoyable to read. Also, I was able to add videos from youtube and upload pictures to assist my writing. 

For my evaluation answers, I used different software to change up and make the blog look more interesting.Firstly, I used prezi as it has different style of presentation making unique and enjoyable to read. Secondly, I used canva as it offer lot of shape,font and themes therefore the presentation looked amusing. Lastly I used this software, slides, which was easy and fast to create therefore I used it twice

What have I learned?

The first thing that i learned is to be more organised and plan out the things that my group is going to do in particular day. For example, it was challenging for my group to get together which caused a problem in the filming process as we lacked member of our team. Another thing that i learned which was very important, is to choose who is going to be in my team and work together through project. Usually each member has to be given a task, for example one person doing sound one person editing, writing the story board,if they don't perform well it will effect our final film.

Lastly, creating a storyboard is crucial when producing our opening scene. Although, it was time consuming but it helped us when having a storyboard, we were setting up a plan for production, including all the shots that we needed, with different angles, which helped us as it was visually clear to understand the order that they’ll be laid out. Furthermore, writing a storyboard allowed me and my team to discuss ideas and experiment with story line. Not only that on the actual day of filming the story helped us film more efficiently as we follow the shot as a guide line
