CD cover

practice

We did a few rough sketches using a template of a six-sided digipack.  We came up with some initial ideas that we discussed and jotted down. The next stage will be to start using photoshop to actually draw out our ideas and experiment with different colours/fonts/graphics.

For the front, we decided to have something quite plain like trees/a path and have the Haze logo in the middle.

We want it to look quite isolated (because of the theme of loneliness in the video) and so the audience focuses on the scenery only.

The back will have an image of a canvas that we will hand paint with song names to make it like a real CD. We will then hang the canvas onto a wall and take a picture of it - the girl in the video likes art so it suits that aspect.

A lot of albums tend to have a quote or song lyrics on the inside, so we decided to use the quote "Head in the clouds, but my gravity's centered" which is a song lyric from THE NBHD.

The inside will have a bleeding image on all 3 sides of scenery again, and the Haze logo will be on the CD itself.

As we decided to add a guy in our music video (which will represent the lead singer of the band) we decided to use the front cover as the artist. It will be quite dark like a silhouette so we may only see half of his face. His hand might be on his face as if to show a sad/weak posture.

We decided to use this side as a quote again as there's already lots of images. As the quote is quite gloomy, It helps set a mood of how the music will be too.

The back will be of the artist again of him standing, and the song names will be written next to him in a way that outlines him, just so the text isn't too structured.

We once again decided to have a bleeding image, but only on two sides. It's of scenery again, but the artist is standing there too so it gives the audience something to focus on - it also shows his loneliness. The CD itself will have branches all over it, and the image will be inverted (negative effect) so it looks more unsettling.
