Design Ideas for Ancillary
By Rizwana
Fonts
As a group, we had began to express our ideas that we had, particularly with our fonts. We had looked at other pop albums and addressed fonts which we had liked. We mostly looked at font sites such as "DaFont" which allowed us to experiment with different fonts and give us a better idea on the type of font we want to use for our digipak.

We mostly looked into handwritten girly fonts to link to our pop genre and other pop albums shown above. We particularly liked the last font as it is very similar to the font on Ella Henderson's album cover. I particularly like this font as the letter "E" is presented in a girly manner which will be good to use for my album cover that I will create, as it will emphasise on the pop genre and towards the fact that the artist is very feminine and "girly".
Colours

The colours that we have chosen to be our theme colours throughout our digipak are pink, white & blue. After looking into other pop artists and their album covers, such as Carly Rae Jepsen & Selena Gomez, it can be understood that these same colours are central in their digipaks too. Therefore, we will be using these same colours in our ancillary as we want our artist to present identical conventions to other pop artists and mainly our audience to clearly understand the music our artist (Amber) promotes. As the artist I am promoting is quite girly, the use of the pink, light blue & white will help address this message as the colours are linked with other female pop artist's and girls in general.
Layout & Designs (inc Flatplans)

Layout & Designs
The image shown on the previous slide is a draft flatplan of the ancillary of my digipak. As a group, we have decided on the theme colours and the shortlist of fonts we want to include, however, we have not decided on the layout. We still need to come to a decision of how we want our album cover to appear. Despite this, I have created a rough flat plan of how I imagine it to look like. Firstly, we will make sure that we are using pictures that clearly show our use of synergy which is the beanie hat the artist wears. This will be identical to the hat she wears in the music video, being black with the phrase "COCO MADE ME DO IT." The front cover will have a close up shot of our artist as we want her to be the main focus of the digipak as we are promoting her. We have not decided on where we want our title of the album and artist to be placed or the way in which we want our theme colours to be presented (this is yet to be done). The back cover will have the list of tracks of Amber's album with all the institutional information. We will possibly add in another picture of our artist on the back cover, possibly being a long shot of her. As a group, there will be many differences in opinion, therefore changes will occur throughout the production of our digipak.
