What is Flocker?

Why persistence and containers?

• Containers are very effective for building and maintaining microservices
• Convergence of storage, cloud and open source platforms for the developer communities
• Flocker volume, called a dataset, is portable, and can be used with any container no matter where that container is running in your cluster.
• Not all apps are state-less
• Managing data as a first class citizen == better flexibility
