    • Is the war pointless? Are people losing their lives pointlessly in war, or is their cause valid?

  • Do you believe the media influences our perspectives on global conflicts, or cinema?
    • Are historical films relating to war realistic in the everyday realities of war (e.g. civilian hardship and displacement, psychological effects, the required restoration of basic infrastructure, Economic and employment misery, lack of access to accurate information, impact on children, including their growth and education)?
  • Have you seen any historical films or movies that seem to accurately retell the history of conflicts?
    • Would you recommend children (or adults) learn history through films or government-funded productions (or school programmes)?

  • Think of a TV series or film you've watched based on a historical period or real event. 
    • What was the film about? Was it based on a book?
    • Who are the main characters?
    • Where and when is the film set?
      • Which historical perspectives did it take? Was it fair in its representation?
    • What was the most memorable scene? DId the director's decision affect the scene?
    • How did the film make you feel? Did you learn anything? Did you change your perspective? If not, is it wrong to enjoy such a film for entertainment?
