Short adjectives (1 syllable, OR -y)
- tall -> taller than
- short -> shorter than
- long -> longer than

- successful -> more successful than
- helpful -> more helpful than
- encouraging -> more encouraging than
- stressed -> more stressed than
Exceptions:
- Good / Well -> Better than. Bad / Badly -> Worse than. far -> further than

- Max is stronger than Matt.
less + adjective / adverb + than
- Max is less happy than Matt.
(not) as + adjective/ adverb + as
- Max is as strong as Matthew (same)
- Max is not as happy as Matt = Max is less happy = Matt is happier.
- Note: Modifiers, e.g. He is MUCH better than me. (much, very much, far, a little, a bit, a lot, any, no, even, still)
