How does your media product represent particular social groups

A Social Group is defined is defined as two or more people who share a social relationship. They usually have a sense of unity, share similar characteristics.This is most commonly depicted as friendship in many romantic comedies as so it is in mine. The friendship between Amy and Banni as well as the friendship between Amy and Liam the guy she eventually falls in love with. 

Romantic Comedies work because they show an element of female bonding which is an everyday fact of life. Females tend to bond together on many different things paving way for their friendships to blossom and eventually becoming a socially viewed relationship. 

My product does not really present an social group. However it does show elements of an social group. The friendship between the characters of Amy and Banni and Amy and Liam are a key example of this. These characters are friends for a reason. They may not be a part of a wider social group but the individuals themselves share an social relationship a friendship.  These people are all bonded by a common factor. Amy and Banni bond due being the same age and having similar characteristics where as Liam and Amy due to them knowing each other from childhood. The line my Amy says at the beginning 'I life has been simple really surrounded by my family and friends' gives importance to the social groups in her life.
