Colormass spent more than 6 years in R&D, developing and perfecting our PBR scanning technology. Our material scanner is the first on the market to reliably scan complex material properties of large surfaces.
When we say scanning, we don't mean a simple scan or photograph (see the difference between a standard scan and colormass's PBR scan to the right). Our proprietary scanner is the only complex svBRDF scanning technology available capable of capturing materials of any size without tiling artifacts (such as creases or lines at the border of a scan).
Not only do we capture more data, but we also alleviate post processing constraints with our automated tiling tool.
Our customers have effectively captured 10,000+ materials, removing tiile artifacts faster and more accurately than the typical post-scan processing done in Photoshop.

Configurator and Data Exporter
In addition to image creation, Designtex leverages the colormass to integrate a 3D viewer (automatically, through an API) as well as various data exports (including tileable image, thumbnail, compatible PBR assets, etc.) into their website. All of the content on the product page is provided through the colormass platform.
Previously, Designtex used threekit.
Scaling image production
Designtex previously depended on traditional photography to produce ~100-150 product and marketing images per month. Since leveraging the colormass ecosystem, the team now produces 500 images per month, increasing image production ~4x while simultaneously reducing costs.
Configurator
Maharam integrated a 3D configurator for 20+ product ranges. The visualizer went live January 2023, and was viewed more than 600.000 times in the first 6 months.
Previously, Maharam used Cylindo.
Image generation
Maharam started using the complete ecosystem in 2023, and starting with the April launch, all product imagery was prepared using the colormass platform. Due to the success of the ecosystem, the same tools are now being rolled out across additional teams at MillerKnoll: Knoll and Edelman (exchanging existing configurators and image generation tools.)
The digital catalog
Prior to working with colormass, Darran's product information was compiled in lengthy .pdf files (for example, the Honey 120 pricelist was ~186 pages long). Darran leveraged the colormass platform to evolve the once-static product catalog into a dynamic, easy-to-use digital experience.

Vanity Builder
The VADO configurator was assembled utilizing the colormass 3D backend, seamlessly integrated into their website via API. The frontend (i.e. user interface) of the configurator was created by VADO to ensure visual alignment with the brand.
