Openmindedness

Open-Mindedness relates to approaching

the perspective and knowledge of others in non-judgemental ways.

An open-minded person is able

in order to give a fair and impartial hearing to the thoughts of another person.

to temporarily set aside their own worldview, feelings and perspectives,

Closed-mindedness is often unintentional,

as it can result from our brain's natural dislike for ambiguity.

Closed-mindedness needs conscious effort

in order to be able to transform.

Open-mindedness springs from our awareness

of the inherent fallibility of our own worldview.

Open-minded individuals are more prepared

to consider alternative and contradicting viewpoints.

Open-Mindedness is a key for effective group participation,

especially within a new environment or different culture.
