They are giving the name Steven Avery to one of the most elusive characters in one of the most discussed legal procedures of recent decades. His biography came to public notice when the case was portrayed of his journey through the criminal justice system in the series “Making a Murderer” on Netflix. Steven Avery was the first of the two men to be wrongly convicted of a crime they didn’t commit, even though he served 18 years behind bars for that.
