# Define a brand color palette for a theme

[Canonical article](https://slides.com/docs/theme-editor-color-palette)

Whenever you choose a color in the Slides editor, the color picker offers a palette of preset colors. Team themes can replace that palette with your own brand colors, which makes it easy for everyone on the team to stay within your intended color scheme.

## Create a custom palette

1. Open the [theme editor](/docs/theme-editor) and select the theme you want to edit.
2. Open the **Palette** tab in the top-right corner.
3. Pick a color and select **Save color** to add it to the palette.

Saved colors appear as tiles at the bottom of the page. Drag the tiles to reorder them.

## Use the palette

When a deck uses a theme with a custom palette, that palette replaces the default colors in the color picker. Team members can still choose any other color by selecting **More options**.
