Structural opening sizes.

Install the pre drilled battens to the width of the opening ensuring that the installed height of the batten is level with plasterboard height.

Raise the fixing position of the ladder to the hatch as shown below, then remove the ladder from the hatch.

Lift the ladder frame into the opening. Ensure the rigid bracket is placed on top of the batten, then lift the flick fit bracket side of the frame upwards until the bracket flicks out.

Place 10mm packers to all 6 fixing points as the side of the loft ladder and fix into place using the 70mm long screws provided.

Measure corner to corner each side of the frame. If both measurements are equal the frame is square. If both measurements are different, adjust the frame to suit until the both measurements are equal.

Re-attached the ladder to the latch ensuring the bolt securing the ladder in place in fixed centrally to allow for adjustment if later required.

Unfold the ladder, but leave the last rung folded. Measure the distance from the end of the second to last rung to the floor. Mark this same measurement onto the ladder rung and cut off the excess.

Install the angled plastic feet to the bottom of the ladder legs.

Fully unfold the ladder and ensure the rung are fully locked out with the ladder grounded.

If required adjust the position of the ladder on the hatch to ensure the ladder is fully locked out and grounded.
