The Internet has shaped mostly everything we do in our lives from watching movies online to listening to music. The way we receive music has changed over recent years. There has been a massive shift in the music industry due to new technology and more people having access to internet. Because of this, music has changed by a huge amount; more conventional styles of consumptions are used e.g. MP3 downloading. Since the creation of sharing files to include music the industry has been losing money for some time in the area of selling albums.

As the internet evolved, many different social media sites have been created to help promote artists.
Almost everyone that is online now has a Facebook profile or a Twitter account, and each of these people can be considered a potential customer.
This social aspect of advertising is what makes the process of advertising with Facebook/ twitter so appealing. People are also much more likely to trust a product or company when it comes recommended by a friend than if it was simply a random ad appearing on a web page.
YOUTUBE
Youtube is an online streaming site where you can stream and share videos.
Millions of users around the world have created accounts on the site that allow them to upload videos that anyone can watch. Every minute of every day, more than 35 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube.
When YouTube was created in 2005, it was intended for people to post and share original video content. But since then it's also become both an archive for storing favourite clips, songs and jokes, as well as a marketing site for companies to promote their products.
