Direct and Indirect Advertising

Direct Advertising:

Direct advertising is marketing that physically deals and communicates with the consumer.

Indirect Advertising:

Indirect however, markets in mass media outlets, such as newspaper adverts, social media adverts, or tv adverts.

Search Related Advertising

As an example, Google has their AdWords section where companies can pay to have an ad shown when certain words appear in the search request.

Also, with the use of cookies, websites, such as Facebook, can see what you have searched on the internet (after visiting their site) and they can then choose an ad that they think you will click on when you next go to their website.

Social Media Campaigns

Research different social media campaigns.

You need to find out:

  • What platform the company ran the campaign on?
  • What the company did in the campaign?
  • Why it worked/is working?
