Social media will be a key aspect of our marketing as it is a cheap and effective way to reach a large proportion of the younger end of our TA.
Social media is also beneficial as people have the ability to share what they see. This would be great exposure for our film as people could spread awareness of it, both to our primary TA and a wider audience. Overall, it is a cheap and efficient marketing strategy which is vital for a small independent film like ours.
We will also put up posters at bus stops, on buses and in tube stations, however, due to our small production budget this will be very limited.
We will also conduct interviews on as many platforms as possible in order to maximise exposure. For example, we would do an interview on the LBQ radio station, Planet London. As there audience is primarily members of the LGBT community, we would be directly addressing our TA.
Film 4 often conduct their own interviews of the films that they help fund and distribute which then release on their website and YouTube channel. By putting more information out in the world we successfully appeal to more people.
We would also create a trailer and TV spot for our film.
We would air our during the adverts of TV shows such as 'Banana' which is on the channel E4. This show explores LGBT themes and has many LGBT characters, meaning that people who watch this show are also very likely to be interested in our film.
Our Trailer would be uploaded onto different social media platforms for maximum exposure. For example, on YouTube we would turn the trailer into an advertisment and play it between videos with LGBT themes or between indie music videos to appeal to fans of the British Indie genre.
