Evaluation Question Three -
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Audience feedback has been key during my A-level media coursework because the media texts will not be successful if they are not appealing to the target audience therefore receiving audience feedback during all aspects of the course was helpful and I learned several things.

I recorded audience feedback during the planning and construction stages of my portfolio. I used Survey Monkey which was posted on to social media such as twitter and Facebook and recorded some personnel of my audience which was presented by Sound cloud and YouTube.

The first feedback I received from my audience was what type of setting they like to see in a horror film and if my pitch idea's were suited towards the genre and if there was any improvements. I interviewed six people of different genders and ages ranging from 15-40 and posted them to YouTube. I listened to my target audience as they said that they would most likely want to see a horror film set in the woods.

Once a Production team was decided, myself and Rianne could not decide on the plot therefore we created a Survey Monkey and posted it on Twitter and Facebook to receive as many results as possible. This survey received 36 responses therefore was very helpful. The most popular narrative was idea one with 21 votes. Second was idea three with 11 and lastly idea two with 4 votes. Idea one is the narrative which was carried out as this is what our audience chose.

I also used Audience feedback when deciding on the title for the film as I produced many variations in Fireworks. This was sent out to friends on Whatsapp and messages as social media sites had already been used however this only received 7 responses. The logo which had most votes was the one which I used for my title.

I also recorded audience feedback on my Institutional logo as I produced three different ones, I only interviewed three people because the majority had chosen a certain one already therefore I felt I did not need to receive any more. These were uploaded to sound cloud where I created a particular playlist.
For question three of the evaluation I have used all of the examples above but there was also a viewing of my trailer to my classmates who answered a questionnaire I produced which included the elements that were enjoyed and which needed to be improved. The fact that I am using four different technologies means that I will receive a high amount of feedback which will be effective meaning I will learn several different improvements which my audience would prefer.

ELEMENTS TO BE IMPROVED
More

White
intertitles to

It needs
a bit more
of the fear
factor!
Would make the shots of the eyes slightly shorter
Perhaps maybe a bigger divide between the characters being happy at the beginning and terrified later on

ELEMENTS MOST ENJOYED
I like the way the friendship of the group was set up at the beginning and the red font in the intertitles.
I
liked the POV
shots, helped the
audience feel what the
characters were
feeling.
The music
was very
creepy and
suited well.
The inter titles were good, the feet hanging from the tree was a great idea and the feet walking towards the camera
I liked the editing
of each clip and
the shot of
across the woods to
establish the setting.
It has an eerie fear that
fits the horror genre. There is
a good range of shots.
For question three of my evaluation I also recorded audience feedback on my print products, teaser trailer and theatrical trailer.
What I have learned from my audience feedback...
I have learnt that my audience enjoyed my plot and narrative and thought the editing worked well.
I have learnt that having a target audience and interviewing them throughout the process of the making of the trailer and narrative is very important. This is important because without the audience feedback during the beginning of the portfolio I may not of produced what my target audience want to see.
From my
audience feedback
I am happy to know that my
print products compliment each other well and that my audience know that they are associated with each other.
In my teaser trailer I have learnt from my audience that some of the shots were not as focused as they should meaning the audience were unclear about what character was in the shot and what was happening.
I have learnt that
I have a range of shots which were noticed and enjoyed by the audience because it put them in the characters point of view which is the eerie effect that I was going for.
