Creation Of Our Magazine Advertisement
ANCILLARY PRODUCTS:
Our chosen image:
The proportions of the photo with half the frame filled by the polaroid provide space to include the albums title and the band's identity.
The natural lighting provides a
homemade and indie vibe to the magazine advertisement, as the light leaks are reminiscent of LED lights which are conventionally utilized in the indie genre.
The polaroid provides synergy between our ancillary tasks and our music video, as it is a memorable image that people will associate with 'The Heydaze'. The polaroid also represents the title track of the album. (As the album is entitled 'New Religion' after their most successful single that features on the album.)
Step 1: Adding the album title and band name
Step 2 : Adjusting the shadows to create a retro aesthetic.

The smoke overlay connotes the theme of smoking /vaping which correlates with our target audience (16-25) and is highly reminiscent of the rebellious nature of the indie genre. The yellow hue of the smoke fits with our desired yellow colour scheme and includes areas of dark smoke to balance the bright yellow. To prevent the layer of smoke from concealing the text I moved the layer below the text layer, to ensure visibility of the text.

I then reduced the opacity of the layer to replicate the 'hazy', 'intoxicated' and almost 'transparent' appearance of smoke.
