Question 3
We invented two companies one for the distribution and the other for the production
Production company: Urban Revolver Productions
Distribution company: British Pictures
We created this using the motion application on a iMac computer.
Production Company
Our production company was created through motion, we used an image of like a view of buildings for the background image this is because our film is urban and set on the street which fits the 'crime and drama genre' and therefore the way we made it fitted the criteria it was made for.
Name of the production company which is Urban Revolver production was named that way because Urban fits the genre for the film and revolver compliments with urban.
We used a fade in and fade out account with the text and tried to make the font as 'urban' as possible after watching how the companies for the big productions are used.
Distribution Company
Our distribution company was created in Final Cut Pro, in which it did not consist of a background image in fact there was a rectangle block towards the bottom of the screen which consists of fire which you can see as it is animated and we named our distribution company British Pictures.
This again compliments with the urban genre that we have and we thought it would nicely fit in with our film.
Viewing
Our film will be watched by 140 media pupils and viewed in the cinema.
It will not be advertised because it was made on low budget and therefore we can not get as many hits as a big production may make.
It will be watched globally because it will be posted on Facebook but we are highly unlikely to get big success with it because it is a low budget and not many people will not be fascinated and the companies were created by us and do not have their own film background behind them.
The screening will only be seen once, although other films have low budgets they have quite a big cast not just three pupils who have to rely on one another.
Also, they usually have another film which was created from the label they used however we were students who created our company from scratch.
What we intend to do in future.
If our film does get success we wish to be part of a small independent company such as;
This is because they are small independent companies, although they don't have huge success these companies still have a history behind them.
They are small budget independent companies however they have more resources then what we created our movie with.
They get about 50/60 screen release which is not a lot but as a small independent production company thats enough.
Like us they do not have much money for advertising however they do have some history behind them as a company and therefore it would be much more easier for them to advertise a new film then a no budget at all production like ours, and in future we would wish to be part of them because they are both known companies but not hugely known and they create movies through small budgets.
MARKETING
Small budget films do not have a lot of financial support either and therefore rely on support from friends and families to help advertise it as much as they can.
They also tend to advertise it through social network sites which is exactly what we did.
However they would have used more improved equipment and would of had people who knew what they were doing.
