Over the course of 15 years of film-making, Nolan has gone from low-budget independent films to working on some of the biggest blockbusters ever made. He has worked on many award-nominated and award-winning films such as Inception, The Dark Knight and Memento.

MARTIN SCORCESE

Part of the New Hollywood wave of filmmaking, Scorcese is widely regarded as one of the most significant and influential filmmakers in cinema history. He is particularly famous for his work with Leonardo DiCaprio, having directed blockbuster hits such as The Wolf of Wall Street and Shutter Island.

David Fincher

Directing films like Se7en, Fight Club, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl mean that Fincher has become prolific in the thriller genre in particular. 

The Coen Brothers

The Coen Brothers are famed directors in every genre but their work with crime thrillers is particularly renowned. Films such as Fargo, No Country for Old Men, The Man Who Wasn't There and Miller's Crossing have helped to shape the genre we know today.
