Evaluation, Question 1

(Plan)

Q1) IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT USE, DEVELOP OR CHALLENGE FORMS AND CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA PRODUCTS?

Here is example of an music video where the male gaze concept is used:

'Work - Iggy Azalea'

Through mise-en-scène there is evidence that supports the male gaze being used in our music video. For example, in the music video we see 'L'kaite' (our artist) wearing provocative costumes, such as, short dresses and crop tops.

The Male Gaze Theory

Here is example of an music video where camera movement is used:

'Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk'

During the production, we chose to use technical camera equipment to resemble the conventions of real media products. By using a fig-rig, it allowed us to experiment with movement. We also used a tripod, during production, to achieve a steady base track.

Here are some examples of music videos that use slow ('Beyonce - Rocket')...

During the editing stage, we chose to use fast and slow motion effect  in our music video,  to resemble real media conventions. The majority of mainstream record labels demand their music video products to use these motions to engage their audiences.

('Ariana Grande - Focus')

We chose to colour grade our music video to make it look a real media convention. By adjusting the brightness and contrast, the music video looked more appealing to watch and gave it a professional feel.
