THE VAMPS- CAN WE DANCE

MIS-EN-SCENE

The music video is set around a house which is quite a homely environment and perhaps some where young teenagers would hang out. The fact it has also been vandilised creates that stereotypical boy character but also creates a homour aspect to it. The narrative also indicates this teenager theme with the fact they have had a party and left the house in a mess.

CAMERAWORK

The mid shot conveys the boy playing the drums however he is covered in silly string. This is a comedy aspect and is used to engage the audience and make them laugh at what is happening. The close up of the singer also allows the audience to see the emotions and facial expressions of the artist. This is effective because the audience feel engaged with the music video. This is also aimed at younger audience because they may feel they can relate to the situation that is happening.

CAMERAWORK

The long shot displays the whole band. This is very effective because it highlights all the different members that come together to create the music and also conveys them as band. The reason they did this was because they wanted to promote themselves as a band and grabĀ a wider fan base.

EDITING

There is lots of cuts throughout the music video to indicate how the narrative is continuing. The editing is also quite fast paced and cut to the beat of the music. The reason for this is to highlight the rhythm and the tempo of the music and remind you of the music. Sometimes people may watch videos and get lost in the story and forget about the music so this therefore reminds them of it.
