Assignment 47: Costume and Props

Costumes:

For our OTS, I decided to look at what you would wear for a day out in an urban environment for a person around the age of 17 to 18.

What I found was that people around that age wear clothes that can be protective like a coat or a hoodie so it can keep them warm from specific weather like wind, rain or cold temperatures.

I also found out that males around those ages wear jeans and either trainers or boots.

Costumes:

Our character, Tom, is meant to be represented as an outgoing teenager. Into his Rock music and into modern Metal attire which is sleeveless torn shirts, Flannels, Jeans, Boots and Are more oriented around dark colors.

I decided to get a dark top for him to use and asked him if he could wear black jeans and the Black boots he owns so it would fit his character. I also asked if he could bring a hoodie if it is cold on the day of filming. Because he is on a day out, I asked him if he could bring one or two bags along so it would also help emphasize we were going out during the day.

Costumes:

The Character I played wasn't being shown at all until the end where I give up looking for Tom. My character in the OTS is very inspired by 'geek' culture in terms of what I wore in the OTS. For my character, I've decided to wear Comfortable boots, Black Jeans and a puffy coat on set. the comfortable shoes show as I am a responsible character and I plan ahead for things. The puffy coat also represents that I am ready for any weather just in case it has a change in weather.

Props:

For our OTS, we dont need any props. However, if there is anything significant on the day we could use we can use it as a prop in our OTS. For example, a dead bird, a run over fox, a fire, burnt logs, any lost toys.

However, I think Tom should carry around a stick or poke at the ground in certain parts to emphasize his character as being more childish and rougher than Steven.
