During the 2023-24 season, McKenna was one of the most efficient scorers in the entire NAIA and his versatility allowed him to excel in many areas on offense. One of the most interesting ones was for sure his shooting ability: at his size, he was able to score 1.01 Points Per Shot with his Jump Shot, a very high value that ranked in the 73rd percentile in NAIA.

McKenna is a versatile and efficient pick-and-roll player, which is something extremely valuable for his transition to professional basketball, where the game is more centred around the pick-and-roll. In his possessions as a P&R Roll Man during the 2023-24 season, he scored 1.382 Points Per Possession, an incredibly high number that ranked in the 93rd percentile in the entire NAIA.

The first task for a big man is always the one to score inside though, and McKenna delivered also in this area during the 2023-24 season: in his At Rim attempts he was able to score 1.33 Points Per Shot, good to rank in the 85th percentile in NAIA.

•  McKenna is a very strong big man who has great footwork and a versatile game, he can score inside cutting to the rim, playing in the post or facing the basket from the perimeter.
•  He has fantastic touch to score attacking the basket or using a hook shot around the basket. He has three-point range with his jump shot. He can attack a closeout. He’s also a very good passer.
 •  He plays hard also on the defensive end, he absorbs contacts and is a competitor. He can move his feet well and is mobile also in team defense. He’s also a great rebounder.

•  McKenna must keep working on his ability to step outside the paint on defense and on his pick-and-roll defense.

•  He can improve his decisions on offense and adapt to play at high efficiency also on a lower number of possessions, something he may face in his first seasons in professional basketball.

McKenna has very high upside thanks to his mix of size, physicality, scoring versatility, shooting ability, touch, passing skills, ability to play facing the basket, and defensive presence. His size, inside-out game and ability to score in different ways fit perfectly the International game. 

There isn't an easy road to success. There are no shortcuts. Each player must find his way with putting in work in the gym, dedication, passion, determination and the right choices.

The short-term goal for McKenna must be to get a start at a good level of competition but also in a team where he can have a major offensive role and where he can more easily adapt to a different style of basketball.
