The Egyptian culture we haven't left behind

Did Pharaoh drown in the sea?

Of course!

What happened to him is a whole story in itself

(see References).

His survival is what concerns us here.

But he didn't die.

Pharaoh's survival means

In the Desert -

While on their way to the Promised Land, how many times did the Jewish People want to turn around and head back to Egypt?

5  Times!

And we can see this

Materialistic

Perceptions

Like:

  • There's nature only.  No Supernatural.
  • The Nile is the source of sustenance – worship it!
  • Follow your hearts desires – immorality (incest, adultery, etc) in abundance.

Wanting Egypt happens when people have

Such was the lifestyle of Ancient Egypt.

And so,

those material people in the desert were missing their physical delights so much...  it was even worth to

resume crushing labor

in Egypt!

Not a Currency

The magical, all-tastes, bread from heaven ("manna") was "nothing" in their eyes.

Heaven is

for the Materialist.

Animals only look down.

They can choose to look down and see materialism, 

or look up and see more heavenly things.

One of the differences between

humans and animals:

Humans stand upright.

What do they see?  Physicality.

1. Mount Sinai

where we received the Torah that will help us with this journey

Materialistic notions is what we need to get away from.

We do this by

2. Jerusalem

where we elevate our material nature via the sacrificial offerings in the Temple.

Heading Toward:

The Exodus will finally conclude

when the third and ultimate Temple will be rebuilt.

as prophesized at the end of the Song of the Sea

with the Coming of Moshiach,

The Exodus was only the beginning of this process.
