I      MY TOOLBARS!

This hurts me more than it hurts you?

It's for your own good?

It's like ripping off a bandaid?

(Please don't take them away from me!)

insert platitude here...

Customizable Toolbars are Redundant in a Web Browser

(Note: we're not talking about the Menu Bar.)

Welcome to the Web Client!

This one, you get to keep.

You access webby through your browser (Firefox, Chrome, not IE) ...

What's this?

Why it's some sort of native ... bookmark toolbar!?!

Oh, Frabjous Day!

5 great things about browser toolbars/bookmarks

Five

  1. LESS CODE Web browsers support the browser bookmarks which means less code management for Evergreen and less bugs/fixes.
  2. MORE CHOICE     While browsers have native toolbars, they also support extensions and external tools which can manage bookmarks, leading to a plethora of choice.
  3. CUSTOMIZATION     Since staff will be logging into the workstation on the browser they can use browser profiles to access their specific toolbars.
  4. MIS EN PLACE     All your bookmarks, shortcuts, and tools can live in one place.  Item Status, Add Volumes/Copies, Amazon, iPage... all living in harmony in your toolbar...
  5. MANAGEMENT      Managing bookmarks will be simpler in the long run.  (Trust me.)

Intrigued?

From here on out we'll cover three things.
