  • Started stunt-racing like his dad.

After Sammy Davis Jr. Made some negative remarks about Frank Sinatra, McQueen took his place in the film Never So Few

Along came a Bullit

McQueen kept starring in films leading up to Bullit including 1963's The Great Escape. Love with the Proper Stranger  and The Sand Pebbles were other important entries into the Steve McQueen line-up. The Sand Pebbles netted McQueen's only Academy Award nominee.
