another thing we had to learn for our prelim tasks was about the camera exposure and how this can affect a shot if the camera is to exposed to light. so we had to learn how to handle situations like this if we were faced with them while mid-production, as the teachers, wouldn't be there to help. the easy way to do this is changing the iso which is how sensitive the camera is too light so if there is not to much natural light coming into the shot the iso feature on the camera should and did help us stop overexposure. furthermore when dealing with key light which is light created by us we also had to deal with the camera being overexposed so we had to adjust the lighting so the camera was able to adjust to the right light and when it was adjusted the shot looked really good and was able to film in the standard full-frame rate HD.
we didn't want the light to affect the shot so we decided to use low-key lighting to stop this and it also helped give a car headlights effect which makes the scene even better
before actually filming the opening sequence we needed to learn about different camera shots and the movement of the camera to help create different effects some examples of this are using zoom this helps create multiple effects such as creating fast-paced action when the camera operator zooms in and out we learned about different camera movements and shots just before filming the prelim tasks so we were able to use a lot of them at the beginning, for example, we used a lot of tracking shots where the actor was walking towards the camera as well as a wide pan to show the setting that we were filming in as well as for many of the other tasks we started to use different camera movements to help add effect to the content to what we were filming, for example, a wide pan or trucking. the clip was taken from my prelim trailer and it shows a qucik glimpse of the characters before it pans oveer to the left to show the rest of the school
The very hardest part of the whole media course, in my opinion, is editing so it was very hard to get used to adding clips into premiere and cropping them to fit clips as well as adding things like legacy titles however the program gave me the freedom to do what I wanted with the clips, for example, changing colors in clips for example from white to blue to give the clip a more of a crime scene feel so I was able to learn all these new things and implement them into my work as well as adding music to the clips and getting the music to sync with the clips I also had to do this with any audio recorded from a different microphone, not on the camera. furthermore, before we learned any of this we needed to label our rushes to see where our clips were uploaded and where to organize the rest of the files into. as well as we also learned to sync audio to its given clip as it was most likely that the audio was taken from an external microphone, for example, a shotgun microphone. moreover, we also learned about adding transitions into our edits things like crossfades where the shot gets weaker the longer it's on the screen and then eventually fades out as well as cutting scenes to stop clips from being too long I did this a lot in my opening sequence where I would cut to black a lot after a clip so the audience was able to take in the scene before and are ready for the next scene this helps as audiences don't want long clips time after time as this ruins the tempo of the opening sequence
when I first started we were set some prelim task these were things like setting up a camera, filming a short movie trailer at this time i had no idea how to use any of the equipment especially the cameras and the editing equipment, however, this would help me when it came to the actual opening sequence as these tasks help me familiarize myself with certain programs, for example, adobe premiere which I used to edit my opening sequence if it weren't for these prelim tasks I wouldn't have been able to improve my skills within media. in addition, some other key aspects that helped when creating the product I had never learned before was lighting and how important it was to have lighting in the correct place for example not having shadows of the camera when filming on dark locations in our opening sequence we used both key light to help establish the setting for the scene and lowkey light in other scenes to help create tension.

I had to learn new ways to find research for many of my tasks like most of the research was found from secondary data about previous crime genres so i was able to understand how they worked but I needed to learn to find different sources so i had many points of view on my work. The two different types of research i learned were primary and secondary. Primary research was the hardest part as I had to do my own research on certain things for example fonts I needed to see what the audience thought were the best fonts however secondary was very easy as I was able to see others' research and build off these points.
