Born in Cockermouth in Cumbria, England on April 7th, 1770 to a lawyer and a housewife, he wasn't a poor lad. However, his mother died when he was eight and his father died when he was thirteen. He went to Hawkshead to study grammar where he developed a love for poetry, then to Cambridge. He spent a lot of time in the Lake District, the area that he was from, writing. William had a passion for nature. He died at seventy April 23rd, 1850.

Wordsworth was an author who focused on having straightforward writing, mainly trying to get to the point. Did not believe in lofty, elaborate writing even though most people during the period were using the popular writing styles.
