From an early age, Basil Ghali harbored a deep passion for knowledge. Growing up, influential figures in his life were medical professionals, sparking his keen interest in following their path. His overarching goal is to make a positive impact, regardless of the chosen field. As he progresses toward this objective, Basil has already achieved significant milestones in his career, mastering valuable skills that will contribute to a bright and successful future.
As a child, Basil gained insight into the value of the healthcare field by observing the service and compassion exhibited by medical professionals in their daily lives. Determining that he could best assist others by entering the healthcare profession, his initial step towards this goal was enrolling at the University of Michigan in 2011, with a concentration in pre-medicine. In his first year, he earned 14 credit hours while concurrently studying for his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, which he obtained in 2012. Faced with a decision that temporarily put his university education on hold, Basil chose to pursue work as an EMT and joined the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), a professional organization supporting the nation's first responders.
Professional and Educational Achievement
In 2013, Basil completed coursework and certification exams to become an official Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association. The following year, inspired by the dedication and advanced lifesaving measures of paramedic personnel, he decided to pursue a paramedic career. Enrolling in paramedic school in 2014, he completed all courses, exams, and provided supervised lifesaving measures, earning his Paramedic certification. As part of his paramedic curriculum, he also obtained certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), advanced lifesaving certifications typically achieved by healthcare professionals. Recognizing the benefits of these skills, Basil knew they would enhance his role as an EMT/Paramedic and future endeavors.
