Q6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Camera

Firstly; I have learnt about how to use a digital SLR camera which I used to take photos with for my magazine. In order to use it I firstly had to learn about how it worked and what the different settings were and what different buttons done. I found out how to work the zoom on the lens and how to take the picture. The camera had a very clear resolution and a good mega pixel number so I was able to take good high definition pictures with it. I was very pleased with the outcome of my pictures and their quality, especially since I have had no previous experience with a professional SLR camera.

Prezi

I also used Prezi to help me when I was creating my blog. Prezi is effectively a power point but more presentable and professional. I used it early on in one of my first posts on my blog as a way of making an analysis of a school magazine and I liked the outcome as it did look very professional. I found it to be tricky at first because it was very technical but once I had the basics covered it was very useful and easy. I used Prezi because I needed some other ways of showing my work instead of having them all posted as a text.

Survey Monkey

I also used survey monkey. This was very useful as it allowed me to create a survey specifically designed for consumer feedback on how my magazine looked. I used people in my class and a range of other people. The response was very positive for me and I could then use the data to find out lots of things like ways of getting good information of what I should include in the magazine by asking people who would fit into my target audience.

Photoshop

Photoshop was the main new technology I used. It was very important in the creation of all three of my pages. I used a lot of its features and fonts to help me get my magazine looking professional. It helped me to enhance the images and make them look as much like conventional magazines as I could. As well as using them for my main pages I also used them in the pages I made in my research and planning as practice which gave me a good understanding of many of the features of Photoshop and its benefits. Since I made those preliminary task pages I have developed my skills a lot with Photoshop and this helped me make my pages a lot better.
