Viruses and Trojans

A Trojan pretends to be a useful or safe program, when it will actually try to attack your device.

A virus spreads through normal programs. They spread easily and quickly. Not all of them are severe, some just slow down your device.

Phishing

Phishing is when your personal details are taken, normally through an email. The people trying to get this information, usually, pretend to be someone you trust, like your bank.

 Worms and Spyware

Worms can duplicate themselves many times, so they can spread very quickly. They are able to spread from device to device and do damage without (unlike viruses)  attaching themselves to other programs.

Spyware steals personal details like passwords or email addresses. It installs it's self onto devices It usually does this by keeping track of what the user types, which is called key logging.

Protection against Malware

There is a way to protect yourself against malware. Download a trustworthy anti-virus software, which will protect you. But be careful, malware  like Trojans pretend to be software like anti-virus software. Make sure you are careful and you will be safe.
