What is the Industrial Revolution?

The Industrial Revolution is a historical period in which significant changes were triggered in the forms of production that gradually converted most of the countries in the world into industrial societies. It was characterized by the use of new technologies applied to mass production.

Many people in those days were also scared of the changes and advances that were being achieved thanks to technology, however today we can attest that everyone managed to improve the lifestyle of humanity. Let's see some of the most outstanding inventions of the industrial Revolution.

Steam machine
In 1768, James Watt built the first model of a steam engine. It is an external combustion engine that transforms water vapor energy into mechanical or kinetic work. He had an important role to move machines and devices.

The phone
Alexander Graham Bell is credited with inventing the telephone in 1876. It was an apparatus that transmitted sounds over a cable through electrical signals. It has been one of the most important inventions because it revolutionized the world of telecommunications.

The car
In 1885, Karl Benz developed the first internal combustion car that was shaped like a tricycle. It was equipped with a small four-stroke engine, horizontal single cylinder and had a carburetor and water cooling.

The plane
The Wright brothers from the United States invented the first plane. The idea arose in 1899 and on December 17, 1903 they flew for the first time.

The light bulb
In 1809 Humphry Davy invented the first light bulb that gave light for 14 successive hours. Later, Thomas Alva Edison developed and perfected it until it reached the long-lasting bulb.
As we said before, these advances have improved the way we live. Similar to the previous ones, the Fourth Industrial Revolution also begins with the development of new technology applied to production processes. In this case, it will be the robotics equipment and connected devices of the Internet of Things.

-Most important technologies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution:
* Internet of things
* 3d print
* Big Data
* Artificial intelligence
* Robotics
* Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality
