Investigating Film Promotion Websites

As part of the Documentary package I am required to promote a film on a website

so I checked one out for some inspiration.

Target Audience

From first glance at the website you're greeted with pictures and clips from the film in a montage on loop. The type of style its filmed in is quite old, this could reinforce the age of target audience as it looks to be set a long time ago.

After watching the trailer I get the impression the film has plenty of twists and "jaw dropping moments" so therefore this is perhaps aimed at someone who likes to be surprised and kept on the edge of their seats.

What can you do on the website?

Homepage

The first thing you are greeted to on the website is for the option to buy tickets, it also  has a section called "watch at home" which allows people to pre order it on different platforms and sites, these are both forms of distribution.

You're able to click the trailer link and be taken to YouTube ton watch the trailer, there are also social media links on the website as well, there is also a brief synopsis.

Website interactivity

The three identical strangers website is fairly basic and there aren't that many features in terms of interactivity, although they are still quite useful as some of the features allow you to read about the film and also pre order it on any device or platform. The website makes good use of links, one of them takes you directly to the original trailer on youtube and there are also links to social media which include Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

There is also a Hashtag.
