MARCH 2014
Starting as a junior (as we all do)
Did you come to work on your first day knowing how to shh into a remote server to edit a file in VIM and restart a process. All this to change the title of a web page.
Working in a little pond with some big fish
Watching people flexing their tech “mussels” in front of junior and senior developers
Moving to a bigger pond with even bigger fish
You knew your limits and abilities. Now you have to start all over again
Constantly watching Twitter and blogging platforms
Where do these people get the time and focus?
Perfectionism
Overworking
Discounting Praise
Take your mistakes in stride
Push yourself to act before you’re ready
Force yourself to start on that project or task you have been putting off
Don’t take work home
Put work in perspective
Take control of your workload
You don’t need to justify anything. You don’t need to add anything
When someone praises you they only expect you to accept it and thank them
