Mock Up

Front Covers

This I believe is my most polished mock up, I particularly like this because the piece seems very sophisticated because everything tonally compliments each other, The addition of the musical chord  also ads another element to the piece as it is bold and eye catching, however I do not believe my target audience will be engaged by the black and whites. I also think that the masthead needs to be more distinctive, since the music notes overpower the masthead which is the most important part of the cover, I would have to come up with a way to incorporate small edits into a large masthead to make the entire image flow, Other than that I like the simple layout of the cover and that not too much is going on the over complicate the image, I may do something like this but include colours which pop more.

I particularly like the font used with this mock up, I chose this font because it feels rustic and cool which appeals to my target audience which would be interested in something edgy, I also like the slanted writing, this composition gives the piece another dimension instead of being flat making it stand out more, I also like the colour scheme, they contrast nicely and pop, the colour of the models has been manipulated and saturated so that they contrast with the background which deepens the overall image, however the overall feel of this front cover is quite bland and un-interesting, possibly because of the black background.

This mock up was a test of colours, I used lots more brighter colours which help it pop, this is helped with a light grey background which gives the cover some life compared to the dark colours I have previously used, this means I can have my models coloured more naturally which makes them stand out, I also like the font used because it flows nicely and I feel like my audience will find it appealing however it then means that because I am using bold colours it is hard to contrast the models nicely into to the cover, I may have to do some tonal work in order to make the final piece work well.
