Age rating 

What is the problem 

The problem in these music videos is that it is too easy to watch explicit videos online in the form of a music video. Parents of the children that are watching these videos are concerned about how easy it is for children to view these explicit videos online. Therefore they have called for a change. The problem is not the videos it is more of how easy and the lack of security faced with the videos. 

What is the proposed solution 

The solution that has been discussed is to have age restrictions on the music videos. This will help the parents of the children be more aware and help control what their children are watching and help protect them 

Why has this solution been proposed 

This solution has been proposed so the parents of the children can control what the children are watching but also so the children are not exposed to explicit images that they shouldn't be watching. 

The advantages of this solution 

I believe that there are a lot of advantages of this solution it will mean that children will not be exposed to explicit videos that they may be too young to be watching but also it will mean that the people that are making the videos may have to think a little more about who to target.  

The disadvantages 

The disadvantages of this solution are that maybe the artists of the videos may stop making videos if they do not support the restriction. Another disadvantage is not as many people will be able to see the music videos therefore the artists may get frustrated.  

Limitations 

The limitations of this restriction are it could be difficult to restrict the right age and when to draw the line between a certain restriction and not. 

Will it make a difference 

I feel if the people that are viewing the videos stick to the rules then yes it could potentially make a difference but it could be very easy to just lie about your age and watch the video anyway therefore they will need to have a certain way of preventing this from happening. 

Videos for a 15 and 18 rating 

I feel the videos that are worthy of a 15 rating are videos that include mild violence and sexual behavior and the videos that will be 18 are videos with extreme violence and sexual behavior and uses of weapons and drugs.
