Welcome to the Essential Rewards class! My name is Amy Cornwell and I’ve been a Young Living member for over 5 years. I was a huge skeptic when I first started out and quickly fell in love with the oils as they actually worked (GASP!) and helped our bodies work properly. Once I started supplements and skincare - I was all in. I didn’t enroll in Essential Rewards when I first started but quickly I saw the value and knew that I wanted to try all the things so I hopped on ER and never looked back. I have always lived in Indiana and am married to my Pilot hubby Dave. We have two kids: Ellie (13) and Ethan (11) and this is our second year of homeschool! Never say never, guys!

 

Tonight we’ll be chatting all things Essential Rewards. The first question people always ask when they think about becoming a member is if they have to order monthly. Of course you don’t have to, but there are SO many benefits to being on ER. It’s like they just keep throwing free things at ya!

 

If you truly love your oils or other YL products and want to transform your home into a cleaner space with plant based products, then ER is the way to go. Oh yeah, those of us around here who have been on Essential Rewards for a while call it ER...it sounds cooler, don’t ya think? Let’s go!!

 

Let’s Talk Essential Rewards

● Essential Rewards is different than a standard autoship program - How?

You can cancel at any time - you can join at any time and cancel at any time. All you have to do to cancel is use your accumulated points then call Young Living to cancel. It’s just that easy!

Flexible dates - YOU choose the date that you want your order to go through. You can change that day every single month or keep it the same. Some months I do the first day of the month, other months I need to wait a few more weeks for various reasons. It’s super flexible!

Only buy what you want or need - Unlike other autoship programs, you get to pick what YOU want and need. Young Living doesn’t choose for you. You can keep the same items each month (if you use YL supplements for example) or you can change it around each month.

50 PV minimum - The minimum purchase amount to be on ER is 50PV (this is normally $50 depending on what you buy). It’s so easy to find 50 PV worth of products you love to order. For me, it’s supplements all the way - and with the 4 of us it’s easy to spend $50 on supplements for the family.

● ER is a great way to change your order every month and try new things. When I first got started I thought the PSK would be all I needed for a while. But once I saw things working I realized that there were other things I wanted to try and I might as well get some rewards for doing so. One of the first things that we worked on is supporting my son’s respiratory system and being on ER, earning points and receiving the free items made it a no-brainer to give those things a try.

● One of my favorite parts about Essential Rewards is the monthly promo items. Every month Young Living has free promotions at 100PV or more and you get extras when you’re on ER. Frequently these are items that are new to me, so it’s a FREE and easy way to try something I haven’t tried before.

 

Earning Points Back

● For every Point Value (PV) you have in your Essential Rewards order, you earn a percentage back to spend on a future order. How much you earn depends on how many consecutive months you’ve processed your Essential Rewards orders: 1-3 months = 10%, 4-24 months = 20% back, 25+ months = 25% back. Let me just tell you, this is crazy generous. Can you imagine Target or your local grocery store giving you 25% back because you shop there every month? IT’S UNHEARD OF! I LOVE LOVE LOVE cashing in my points for free items. Not everything is available to be purchased with points through the quick order, but a lot of items are. It’s like Christmas when I get to cash in my points.

● After only 3 months you start earning 20% back - that means if your ER order is 250 PV, you earn 50 ER points to spend later. Let’s do a little breakdown here:
1st month - 100PV = 10 points (essentially $10 free)
2nd month - 300PV = 30 points
3rd month - 50PV = 5 points
Already in 3 months you’ve banked 45 points ($45) to use on free product!
4th month - 250PV = 50 points (WHAT?! Look how quick this adds up!!)
5th month - 300PV = 60 points
6th month - 100PV = 20 points

Don’t forget, you also get the free promo gifts which we’ll talk about next. But in just points in your first 6 months by this example, you would bank 175 points to use on free product!

Every month Young Living picks free promotional items starting at 100PV. You can get them both for a quick order or an Essential Rewards order, but you get extra freebies when you’re on Essential Rewards.

The promo levels are 100PV, 190PV, 250PV and 300PV. Some months they add a 400PV tier with extras. Remember, this is in addition to your points that you earn. The monthly promotion is automatically shipped with your order.

Reduced Shipping and Flexible Dates

Young Living offers a YL Choice discounted shipping rate on Essential Rewards orders - another way for Essential Rewards members to save money along with getting points back on their ER orders.

 

Unlike most autoship programs, you can change your date every month to fit your needs - this helps when you need items earlier in the month or you need to push it back to a later date in the month due to finances or travel.

I have to say, I added up what I spent on shipping the year before when they first rolled this out and I spent over $300 on shipping - so doing YL GO+ and not having to pay shipping for any of my orders was a no-brainer. YL GO+ is a great way to pre-pay for shipping (at the cheapest rate - it’s $3.58 shipping per order on Plus) and then when you process your ER order, quick order or points redemption, you pay $0 for shipping!

Making Essential Rewards Work for You

 

Essential Rewards is designed to benefit each individual member and their situation - you can get more out of it if you want to, but every member can benefit from it. There are so many that maximize the benefit by ordering minimum of 300PV each month, but remember that the minimum you ever need to spend on ER is 50PV. You start earning free promotions at 100PV.

 

Let’s go back to the idea of having friends and family who want to try an oil add to their order - this saves on shipping (split the shipping with the friend) and also gets the oils into the lives of people who need them. It could lead them to become members themselves! (P.S. Did you know that when you refer a friend you get a “thank you” check from Young Living for about $50??

 

If you are on 100PV on Essential Rewards each month that ensures that you maximize your commissions!) Just remember, if you allow a friend to order on your account you need to also charge them for sales tax so you don’t lose money. Sales tax is figured on the RETAIL price.

There are lots of ways to fill your Essential Rewards order - with a 50 PV minimum, oils you use every day will quickly meet the minimum as well as supplements. Then set a reminder on your phone for a day or two before your ER date so you can remember to change it to whatever you need the next month. ER orders process around midnight on your scheduled day so you’ll actually see it go through the day AFTER your date - you have all day on your scheduled day to make edits.
