Apache Bloodhound is an open-source software development collaboration tool, including issue tracking, wiki and repository browsing. It is hosted by the Apache Software Foundation.
A tool for software developers to keep track of issues with their software. Usually used in enterprises to deal with all the errors and bugs in an efficient way
Software developers work in different projects at a time. We need a tool to work jointly and assign ourselves tasks or errors so that software works great.
Manage anything from your one pet project to dozens of commercial or open source products, and scale seamlessly in-between
Yes, its name was Trac. Apache Bloodhound is essentially an improved distribution of that well-known project. It includes the common and useful plugins to enable a more complete distribution than a typical Trac installation.
Trac is an enhanced wiki and issue tracking system for software development projects. Trac uses a minimalistic approach to web-based software project management.
Yes, Atlassian JIRA
It’s crazy expensive and not affordable for most of organizations. Also, it’s not open source. That means one cannot add any functionality to that software without the Atlassian’s authorization.
Apache Bloodhound is a brilliant tool that solves a specific but wide problem. It is free and you can add all the functionality that you need. It’s dead simple for both installation and use.
This tool will probably be used in companies that can’t justify the cost of JIRA. But it is growing towards a better product.
As it is a recent tool, there is not a great and wide documentation. We hope this changes in the near future. Also, we would have found very handy a DEMO in Internet.
