My target audience provided me with feedback in regards to what photos should be used on my Digipak. Overall they liked these four photos the most due to the close up camera shot, high key lighting and facial expression of the model. In contrast to the other images they believed these conformed the most to existing album cover images as they are very simple yet effective. They also thought that the model looked innocent and vulnerable which is important as it reflects the intimate, romantic, heartbreak theme of the album.
Here are a few existing digipak covers which styles i have attempted to imitate in my own photos. I found that the most simple covers were the most rememberable and effective, having a single image of the artist puts the spotlight on them making them the main focus. I wanted to gain the same impact with my images which is why i used these as an inspiration.
I specifically find encapsulating about the existing products photos is the use of low key lighting in the background. My images already have a subtle shadowed background which i will enhance using photoshop when editing my photos. I may alter the colour of the background and add simple shadows to it or i will experiment with the black and white tones as i think they help the artist stand out naturally.
