Web components: too complex and time-consuming to build from scratch.
UX: reduce the level of detail in the information provided for UX.
External XD specs: specs require a high level of manual work. Their maintenance is becoming increasingly expensive.
Designers: make it easier, simpler, for designers to consume.
Bootstrap first: less focus on special use cases, more focus on theming up the currently available Bootstrap pieces to deliver a complete UI kit.
Smarter specs: all the information provided in XD specs is already included in the CSS of the UI piece.
Downstream first: the work put into our web components MVP was necessary to understand we don't have the human force to build and maintain a full component library. In the future, we will look into upstream options that we can simply theme up and maintain.
