How to do Primary Market Research

  • Be fearless and enthusiastic
  • Dont worry about people saying no - find somebody else!
  • Get an understanding of what makes potential customers tick
  • Be able to describe your potential customer

Pick your idea

Write down  two assumptions to test from your idea:

  • The type of person who would use this shops online.
  • This person plans alot.
  • This type of person loves discounts.
  • Likes to exercise regularly
  • Loves bright colors

The Goal!

  • Check if our assumptions are valid or not
  • Be able to describe the typical customer
    • What do they love to do,
    • what frustrates them,
    • where do they hang out,
    • what does their usual week look like?

Hit the Streets!

Finalise 2 assumptions and go go go! Be Fearless!

Debrief

  • What were your assumptions
  • Who did you meet, describe them and what they were doing as much as possible
  • Did they fit your assumptions?! any surprises?
