Débora Tavares
My name is Débora Tavares, I am 26 years old, I have a degree in law, I work in a legal consultancy, I live in São Paulo.
My hobbies consist of watching movies/series, hanging out with my friends, making cocktails, listening to podcasts, walking my dog, eating, traveling, running and trying new things.
After a while of the beginning of the pandemic, I put my long-term plans in perspective and reassessed what I should do to reach my goals, reaching the conclusion that the best way would be to migrate to the tech area.
Doing research, I got to know Ironhack and the bootcamp program and got interested in all the dynamics that the course proposes.
It was inspired by the sad and comical scene where the then president of Brazil (Bolsonaro), in the midst of the covid-19 world pandemic, was spotted by photographers showing a box of the drug chloroquine for rheas at Palácio da Alvorada.
This medicine is defended by the head of state as a treatment for the disease, even without scientific proof.
I chose this theme because of the whole situation we are facing, and because it is a different idea and a current theme. After all, dealing with news linked not only to covid-19 but to the management of our country is an incessant part of everyday life.
The game works with HTML, CSS, CANVAS and JAVASCRIPT tools.
The biggest technical challenge I faced was to assimilate how to apply what we learned in class in my project, despite having absorbed many concepts I found myself having difficulty in putting it into practice.
I overcame this challenge by making a lot of use of the Google master and asking my T.A's and classmates for help.
The biggest mistake I think I made was being able to focus on the essential part of the project, which is the logic, several times I found myself allocating unnecessary time to non-critical details.
I can say that I learned to establish small tasks that should be completed in a certain period of time.
I have repeatedly considered not being able to complete this project, and am proud to have completed it as intended. And I wouldn't be able to do it without the support not only of the Ironhack team such as Gabriel Sicuto, Júlia Foresti and Daniel Albanez, but also of my colleagues Jhonatan Veras and Renan Oliveira who repeatedly listened to my concerns and promptly helped me to resolve project questions .
Thanks,
