Reveal content one step at a time

Fragments let you reveal the content on a slide one step at a time. Use them to build up a list point by point, unveil the answer to a question, or keep your audience focused on what you're talking about right now.

For movement between two versions of a slide, use Auto-animate instead. To change how complete slides enter and leave, use slide transitions.

Create fragments

1. Open Fragments in the editor's right toolbar, or press ⌘ P on macOS or Ctrl P on Windows.
2. Click any content block on the slide to turn it into a fragment. Blocks that are hard to reach on the canvas can also be selected from the list in the Fragments panel.
3. Select Done when you're finished.

To turn a fragment back into regular content, click it again while in fragment mode. To remove every fragment from the slide at once, select Clear fragments.

Fragment order

The number on top of each fragment shows the order in which it appears. Hover over a fragment to reveal controls for changing its position. Fragments that share the same number appear at the same time.

Fragment styles

By default, fragments fade in. Select the ellipsis icon beside a fragment's number to choose a different animation style. Learn more about fragment styles.
