The media library stores the images, GIFs, and videos you upload to Slides. Use it to find and reuse media or permanently delete files. It opens automatically when you add a media block and is also available from the editor sidebar.
Search Unsplash and GIPHY
You can search for still images and animated GIFs from Unsplash and GIPHY. Select Search in the header to get started.

Search your uploads
The search field in the left sidebar can be used to find uploaded assets based on their label. We use the original filename as a label by default but this can be edited by hovering over any media item. Since we default to the filename you can find all assets of a specific type by searching for their file extension, like ".png" or ".svg".
Supported media upload formats
We support JPG, PNG, GIF and SVG image uploads as well as all standard video formats.
Tags
If you have uploaded a lot of media it can get difficult to navigate the library. This is where tags are helpful. Your media can be associated with any number of tags which gives you full flexibility when it comes to grouping content.
To create a tag, select Create tag in the left sidebar. The number beside a tag shows how many assets use it.
Deleting media
To delete an item from the media library start by selecting it. Once selected a toolbar with the option to delete will appear along the bottom of the library. Note that once a media item has been deleted it is permanently removed from our servers and will stop working in any presentation that it's currently used.

Multi-selection / batch actions
Select multiple assets to perform batch actions. After you select one or more assets, an action tray appears at the bottom of the screen. You can also drag the selected assets onto a tag.
Hold Shift to select every asset between your previous selection and the asset you select next.

Team media
If you're part of a team on Slides you have access to a second set of media which is shared among all of your team members. Team media is accessible to everyone in your team but can only be edited by team administrators. Learn more about team media.
Team media can be accessed through a tab in the header of the library.
