16-30 - male and female - We wanted this age range because between 16-25 you become more socially aware, you're more likely to understand the problems that surrounds you, and ignore what the media feed you. We ended it at twenty-five due to: the song choice, the singer and the actors we chose to be in the video. Also, as they age towards 25, our target audience became less interested in mainstreams (fashion, music, social networks).
We both agreed that any ethnic group - mainly ethnic minorities, will be the target audience for our music video project. This is because we think that they would be able to understand and appreciate the message that we want to get out to the audience by the end of the video. The reason why the audience of our video will mostly attract ethnic minorities is because we want to convey the message of one particular person being in control or "in charge" of a group of people, in this case, mirroring how it is in real life where the ruling class has control over those in the lower classes. We believe the people in the lower classes are mainly those of ethnic minorities due to the fact that those in the middle class and above are mainly those who are white.
For this project we didn't want to focus on just one sexuality, we felt that the video could relate to any sexuality. We decided this as we believed the main focus was the exploitation of capitalism, so focusing on a specific sexuality in the video seemed counterproductive. To make sure that we don't conform to a specific sexuality throughout, we will stick to ideas that will not encourage a stereotype, for example wearing a certain colour or performing an action that could urge a certain reaction.
